WASHINGTON (MNN); US President Donald Trump has ruled out the use of nuclear weapons in the ongoing conflict with Iran, stating that such weapons should never be used by any country.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said the United States had already inflicted significant damage on Iran through conventional means. “Why would I use a nuclear weapon? We’ve decimated them without it,” he remarked.
The US president also made it clear that he is in no hurry to reach an agreement with Iran, emphasizing his desire for a lasting and effective deal. “I want to take my time and make the best deal,” he said, adding that Iran, not the US, is under time pressure.
Trump claimed that Iran’s military capabilities have been severely weakened, asserting that the country’s forces were “decimated” within four weeks. He further alleged that Iran’s leadership is in disarray and facing internal divisions.
Highlighting economic pressure, Trump warned that Iran’s oil infrastructure could face serious consequences if production is halted, while noting that a strict blockade has limited the country’s ability to conduct business.
In a post on social media, Trump reiterated that he is not under pressure to end the conflict quickly, stressing that any agreement with Iran would only be made when it serves the interests of the United States, its allies, and global stability.
