ABBOTTABAD/RAWALPINDI (MNN); Commander National Strategic Command (CNSC) General Syed Aamer Raza has warned that Pakistan will not tolerate cross-border aggression or violations of its sovereignty, saying any miscalculation by an adversary would trigger a response beyond its expectations.
Addressing the passing-out ceremony of the 154th Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Long Course, 39th Technical Graduate Course, 73rd Integrated Course and 28th Lady Cadet Course at PMA Kakul on Saturday, Gen Raza said there was no room for conflict or war in a nuclearised environment.
“Safeguarding the territorial integrity of our motherland is absolute and unyielding,” he said, reaffirming that the Pakistan Armed Forces were prepared to defend every inch of the country.
The CNSC said recent geopolitical developments, particularly the escalating conflict in the Middle East, had underscored Pakistan’s strategic importance on the international stage. He cited Pakistan’s role in regional stability, referring to the Islamabad Accord, and described the Mecca Accord as a continuation of the vision for lasting peace.
Gen Raza said Pakistan remained committed to restraint, dialogue and diplomatic de-escalation but cautioned adversaries against interpreting its peaceful approach as weakness.
Warning over disinformation and proxy warfare
Referring to the May 2025 Pakistan-India conflict, Gen Raza said Pakistan’s adversaries were attempting to undermine national unity and state institutions through disinformation, narrative warfare, proxy terrorism and sub-conventional warfare.
He alleged that hostile elements were exploiting internal vulnerabilities to create divisions between the Pakistani people and the armed forces.
Following the failure of “Operation Sindoor”, he said, adversaries were seeking to weaken the country’s social cohesion and infrastructure through proxy activities.
His remarks came after Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warned that any fresh terrorist activity originating across the border would invite a strike bigger than the previous one. Pakistan subsequently condemned the remarks as provocative and warned that any military aggression would be met with a forceful response.
Gen Raza urged the graduating cadets to remain steadfast in their duties, resist malicious propaganda and uphold the country’s sovereignty, national unity and territorial integrity.
Support for Palestine and Kashmir
Expressing concern over the situation in Palestine, Gen Raza said Pakistan stood firmly with the Palestinian people and condemned violence against civilians and the destruction of civilian infrastructure, describing such acts as violations of international law.
On Kashmir, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), saying their sacrifices would not be forgotten. He said Pakistan would continue supporting their aspirations in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions.
Modern warfare and military leadership
The CNSC said rapid technological advances had fundamentally transformed modern warfare, making traditional operational doctrines increasingly inadequate.
He said the Pakistan Armed Forces were undertaking a swift, multidomain transformation to strengthen their military capabilities. He urged the cadets to master emerging technologies, anticipate changes on the battlefield and remain ahead of the technological curve.
Emphasising leadership, Gen Raza said military officers needed sound judgment, professional competence, courage, integrity and dedication to duty. He added that effective leadership depended on earning the trust and confidence of soldiers.
He congratulated the graduating cadets and their parents, acknowledging the families’ role in supporting them throughout their training. He also extended felicitations to cadets from Bangladesh, Iraq, the Maldives, Palestine, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan and Yemen.
Awards for outstanding cadets
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Gen Raza attended the ceremony as chief guest, reviewed the passing-out parade and presented awards to high-performing cadets.
The Sword of Honour was awarded to Academy Senior Under Officer Muhammad Junaid Jabbar of the 154th PMA Long Course, while Battalion Senior Under Officer Syed Hassan Abbas received the President’s Gold Medal.
The Chief of Defence Forces Overseas Gold Medal went to Friendly Country Company Senior Under Officer Riyad Mahmood Khan of Bangladesh. Company Sports Sergeant Muhammad Abdullah received the Marksman Medal.
Course Under Officer Ali Ahmed Mustafa of the 39th Technical Graduate Course received the Chief of Army Staff Cane. The Commandant’s Canes were awarded to Course Under Officer Muhammad Hamza Fayyaz of the 73rd Integrated Course and Course Junior Under Officer Maryam Tariq of the 28th Lady Cadet Course.
Gen Raza concluded by congratulating the graduates on their commissioning into the Pakistan Army and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, precision, moral courage and unwavering loyalty to the country.
