TEHRAN (MNN); Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is set to return to Pakistan after completing his visit to Oman, shortly after departing Islamabad earlier in the day, according to state media reports.
The IRNA news agency, citing the foreign ministry, said Araghchi will travel back to Pakistan following his Oman visit before heading onward to Russia, as part of ongoing regional diplomatic efforts.
It added that some members of his delegation have returned to Tehran for consultations and to receive further guidance on matters related to ending the ongoing war. The team is expected to rejoin Araghchi in Islamabad on Sunday night.
Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that an Iranian delegation is currently visiting Oman for the first time since the outbreak of the Middle East conflict, which he noted has affected the broader region.
In a statement on X, Baghaei reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to strengthening ties with Persian Gulf states, emphasizing mutual trust and constructive cooperation. He described Tehran’s relations with Muscat as a reflection of Iran’s sincere pursuit of respectful and mutually beneficial engagement with its southern neighbours.
