Islamabad/Bucharest: Romania’s Foreign Minister held a telephonic conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, to discuss recent developments in the Middle East, including the Islamabad Talks.
During the call, the Romanian side appreciated Pakistan’s continued mediation efforts, carried out in coordination with regional partners, which contributed to securing a ceasefire and preventing further military escalation in the region.
Both sides emphasized the urgent need to restore stability and security across the broader Middle East. They also underscored that creating conditions for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to uninterrupted naval traffic remains a shared priority.
Romania expressed its willingness to support ongoing mediation and de-escalation efforts, while reaffirming its commitment to close coordination with regional and international stakeholders.
The two leaders further agreed to continue dialogue aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between Romania and Pakistan.
