TEHRAN (MNN); Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has called for national unity and resilience in the face of what he described as growing pressure from the United States, saying Iran would continue to defend its independence and sovereignty against external threats.
In a series of statements posted on X, Mojtaba Khamenei said one of the country’s most important priorities at the current stage was preserving unity among the Iranian people and state institutions while safeguarding the dignity and independence of Iran.
He praised the courage of what he described as Islamic fighters and residents of Iran’s southern regions, saying their recent actions demonstrated the determination of the Iranian nation and delivered what he called “unforgettable lessons” to the United States.
Khamenei claimed that Washington was attempting to intensify the conflict despite the increasing costs, warning that Iran and the “Resistance Front” would continue to respond firmly to any escalation.
Referring to the United States as the “Great Satan,” he accused Washington of aggression, dishonouring agreements and pursuing policies based on coercion, dominance and force. He further alleged that repeated violations of a memorandum of understanding signed between the presidents of Iran and the United States had undermined the credibility of US commitments.
Mojtaba Khamenei also paid tribute to the large public participation in the funeral of what he called Iran’s “martyred Leader,” saying the turnout reflected national solidarity and strengthened Iran’s Islamic-Iranian identity.
He said the public response had encouraged Iran’s supporters while sending a strong message to its adversaries.
Concluding his message, Khamenei announced that a detailed statement from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution regarding the funeral ceremonies and important national issues would be released in the coming days.
The statements were posted on X and reflect Mojtaba Khamenei’s views.
