AMMAN; Jordan’s King Abdullah II on Monday commended the Pakistan Army’s contributions to regional peace and stability during a meeting with Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir, who is currently on an official visit to Jordan. Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II was also present at the meeting, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, focusing on expanding bilateral cooperation in defence and security, as well as reviewing regional developments.
“His Majesty appreciated the professionalism and dedication of the Pakistan Armed Forces in promoting peace and stability in the region and expressed his desire to further enhance defence collaboration between the two brotherly nations,” the ISPR said.
Field Marshal Munir conveyed greetings and warm wishes from the people, government, and armed forces of Pakistan to King Abdullah and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening fraternal relations with the Hashemite Kingdom.
During his visit, COAS Munir also called on Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordan Armed Forces, at the General Headquarters in Amman. Upon arrival, he was received with a guard of honour.
The ISPR noted that both sides reaffirmed their long-standing and historic ties, and Major General Al-Huneiti acknowledged Pakistan’s significant contributions toward peace and regional security.
Prior to visiting Jordan, the army chief had toured Egypt, where he met President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and other senior defence officials. Both sides emphasised the importance of stronger strategic coordination and expanded cooperation in defence, technology, and the economy.
The visit underscores Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its defence diplomacy and foster closer relations with friendly nations across the Middle East.
