ISLAMABAD (MNN); The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Pakistan, has introduced a Digital Attestation System to facilitate citizens in getting their documents attested and modernize the existing process.
Under the new system, applicants can submit online applications for General and Apostille attestation. Upon completion of the required procedures and payment of the prescribed fee, an electronic certificate (e-Certificate) will be issued to them via email.
The facility is being provided through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Islamabad office and its liaison offices in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, and Gujrat. The initiative aims to simplify the traditional document attestation process, eliminate unnecessary visits to government offices, and promote transparency in public service delivery.
Under the Digital Attestation System, applicants will be able to access online services for both General and Apostille attestation. After completing the required procedures and paying the applicable fee, applicants will receive an e-Certificate for their attested documents through email.
With the introduction of this facility, citizens will generally no longer need to visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or its liaison offices in person for document attestation. However, personal attendance may still be required in certain specific cases, depending on the nature of the application.
The digital initiative is expected to benefit Pakistani citizens seeking document attestation for overseas education, employment, business, and other official or legal purposes. It is also expected to save applicants travelling from other cities considerable time and travel expenses.
Through this initiative, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aims to make public services more efficient, transparent, accessible, and responsive to citizens’ needs.
Citizens can submit their applications for document attestation through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ official online portal.
