RIYADH: Mohammed bin Salman welcomed Keir Starmer to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday night, marking a key diplomatic engagement amid ongoing regional tensions. The meeting took place in Jeddah, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing pressing security concerns in the Middle East. Starmer has consistently condemned recent attacks by Iran on Saudi Arabia.
The UK government stated that the visit will also emphasize diplomatic efforts to support and uphold the ongoing US-Iran ceasefire, aiming to secure long-term regional stability and safeguard both the British and global economy.
This visit follows Starmer’s earlier trip to Riyadh in December 2024, where he pledged to deepen UK-Saudi ties and expand British engagement across the Middle East.
