Cricket Australia has officially confirmed its men’s team will tour Pakistan for a three-match T20 International series at the end of January, serving as key preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The schedule has been finalised in coordination with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), with the opening T20I set to be played on January 29. All three matches will take place at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, with the remaining fixtures scheduled for January 31 and February 1.The Australian squad is expected to arrive in Lahore on January 28.
For each match, the toss will be held at 5:30 pm Pakistan Standard Time, while play is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm.The series carries significant importance for both sides as they fine-tune preparations for next month’s T20 World Cup. Pakistan will compete in Group A, while Australia have been placed in Group B of the tournament.This will be Australia’s third tour of Pakistan since March 2022. During that visit, Australia played a Test series, three One-Day Internationals and one T20I. Pakistan also hosted three matches of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
In the only previous T20I played at Gaddafi Stadium between the two teams, Australia won by three wickets. Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmad Syed welcomed the tour, saying the series would offer fans an exciting start to the year.“We are excited to host Australia for a three-match T20I series. This series will give Pakistani cricket fans a magnificent start to the year,” he said.He added that the venue would be familiar to the visitors, noting that since March 2022, Australia have played one Test, five ODIs and one T20I at Gaddafi Stadium.
