On behalf of Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Assistant Interior Minister Hisham Al-Faleh led the Kingdom’s delegation to the EU–MENA Ministerial Conference in Lisbon.
The conference was opened by Portuguese Home Affairs Minister Maria Lucia Amaral and aims to boost regional political dialogue and strengthen security cooperation, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Al-Faleh said Saudi Arabia looks forward to exchanging ideas and future visions with participating states.
He underscored the need for enhanced security coordination, combating organized crime, developing law-enforcement capabilities, and sharing expertise. He also called for deeper EU–MENA cooperation.
Crime in all its forms poses significant challenges, he noted, stressing the importance of stronger international partnerships.
Ministers from Arab and European countries, along with representatives of international organizations, attended the event to discuss shared security concerns, review emerging security models, and explore mechanisms for better coordination and information exchange to tackle regional and global threats.
