ISLAMABAD: The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF), a little-known armed group opposed to the Taliban, has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks targeting Taliban forces over the weekend.
According to statements posted on the group’s official X account, AFF fighters launched a rocket attack on a Taliban military convoy travelling from Kabul to Badakhshan province on Saturday.
The group said the convoy was tracked from Kabul to the Northern Salang area before it was targeted in Baghlan province’s Doshi district.
The AFF also claimed to have carried out additional attacks against Taliban forces in the Zebak district of Badakhshan province.
In its statements, the group further alleged that four Taliban commanders were killed during clashes over the past two days.
The Taliban authorities have not immediately commented on the claims, which could not be independently verified.
