ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly dismissed as “ridiculous” claims made by an Afghan Taliban spokesperson alleging that Islamabad violated the temporary suspension of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The ministry clarified that Pakistan has not breached any ceasefire, calling the allegations baseless and rooted in falsehoods. It added that such propaganda appears aimed at justifying acts of terrorism and may even stem from internal dissenting elements within the Taliban regime.
The statement further emphasized that the temporary pause in operations will eventually end, warning that any future terrorist activity or cross-border attacks will be met with a firm and decisive response.
According to the ministry, the decision to suspend operations temporarily was taken in light of Eid al-Fitr and upon the request of friendly Islamic countries.Earlier, Information Minister Ataullah Tarar stated that the halt in operations was made at the request of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Qatar, and will remain in effect until the early hours of March 24.
