ISLAMABAD (MNN); The Head of the Media Department at the Russian Embassy in Islamabad, Igor Kolesnikov, visited the office of Mahan News Network (MNN).
On his arrival, he was welcomed by MNN Chief Editor Sohail Iqbal and Editor Farooq Faisal Khan. Editor Content Aslam Dogar, Director of CDCS Dr Furqan Rao and General Manager Marketing Zafar Iqbal Khan were also present on the occasion.
During the visit, Igor Kolesnikov spoke in detail about the growing relationship between Pakistan and Russia. He said ties between the two countries were strengthening not only at the government level but also among their people.
He said a trade agreement for rail-based commerce between Pakistan and Russia had been reached in Moscow, which would further help bring the two countries closer.
Kolesnikov urged the media in Pakistan and Russia to move beyond the shadows of the past and focus on fact-based and objective reporting. He said Western propaganda against Russia was losing its effectiveness as people now had access to alternative sources of information.
He also said that greater awareness about Russia had encouraged many Pakistani young people to seek educational opportunities in the country. Pakistani youth, he added, were also enthusiastically participating in various other activities taking place in Russia.
