RAWALPINDI (MNN); Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Thursday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continuing targeted operations against militant groups referred to by the state as “Fitna al-Khawarij” and “Fitna al-Hindustan,” vowing that the campaign would persist until terrorism and its facilitators are completely eliminated from the country.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief made these remarks while addressing participants of the 20th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
During his address, Field Marshal Munir said Pakistan remained determined to dismantle terrorist infrastructure wherever it threatens the country’s security and the lives of its citizens. He emphasized that the armed forces and law enforcement agencies would continue intelligence-based and targeted operations with full resolve.
The army chief stated that foreign-sponsored militant proxies have consistently attempted to create instability, spread violence and undermine peace in Balochistan. However, he expressed confidence that such attempts would be defeated through the decisive response of Pakistan’s armed forces, supported by the unity and resilience of the nation.
Field Marshal Munir said the combined efforts of the security forces, law enforcement agencies and the unwavering support of the people would ensure lasting peace and stability in Balochistan.
He reiterated that Pakistan would continue taking firm action against all elements involved in terrorism and pledged that the country’s resolve to protect national security and sovereignty would remain unwavering.
