ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army has secured first place at the prestigious International Pace Sticking Competition 2026 held at the Royal Military Academy (RMA) Sandhurst in the United Kingdom, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In a statement issued on Friday, the militaryâs media wing said the Pakistan Army team, represented by the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), delivered an outstanding performance and emerged as the overall winner of the competition.
The PMA contingent not only claimed the top team award but also swept all major honours at the event, including the Best Pace Sticker and Best Driver awards.
The nine-member team, led by Major Haider Gulzar, arrived in the United Kingdom on June 5 to participate in the annual competition. A total of 16 teams from armed forces around the world competed in the event.
According to the ISPR, the achievement reflects the high standards of professionalism, discipline and training maintained by Pakistanâs armed forces.
âThe Pakistan Army teamâs victory is reflective of the highest standards of professional training, excellence and dedication maintained by the Armed Forces of Pakistan,â the statement said.
The International Pace Sticking Competition is one of the most prominent military drill events hosted by RMA Sandhurst and attracts participation from military academies and armed forces across the globe.
Pakistan has enjoyed considerable success in the competition in recent years. The country previously won the event in 2020, marking its third consecutive victory after first participating in 2018.
The latest achievement adds to Pakistan Armyâs recent accomplishments in international military competitions. In October last year, a Pakistan Army team won the gold medal at Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2025 in Wales. Pakistan has also secured gold medals at the prestigious exercise in 2024, 2017, 2016 and 2015.
