KIEV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is set to meet British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London on Tuesday to advance a deeper defence and industrial partnership, according to the British government. The two leaders are expected to agree on an expanded declaration focusing on the joint production and supply of drones and other military technologies, a Downing Street statement said.
Both sides will also explore opportunities to expand defence industrial and technological cooperation with other countries. Mark Rutte, Secretary General of NATO, is also expected to visit London for talks with Starmer and Zelenskiy. The discussions will centre on Euro-Atlantic security and efforts to secure a lasting peace in Ukraine.
Starmer said drones, electronic warfare and rapid battlefield innovation have become central to national and economic security, a trend further intensified by ongoing conflicts, including in the Middle East.
