ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Navy has successfully conducted a live firing test of an indigenously developed ship-launched anti-ship missile, demonstrating its precision-strike capability and operational readiness, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In a statement, the military’s media wing said the missile accurately engaged its target at extended range and high speed, reflecting what it described as a “resolute display of preparedness and precision-strike capability.” Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, along with senior scientists and engineers, witnessed the test firing.
ISPR said the missile is equipped with an advanced guidance system and enhanced manoeuvrability, enabling it to evade threats, adapt to changing conditions, and strike targets with accuracy. It added that the successful launch highlights the integration of technological advancement and operational expertise, and reinforces the Navy’s commitment to maintaining a credible sea-based deterrent and ensuring maritime security in the region.
According to ISPR, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and other senior civil and military leadership congratulated the teams involved in the achievement. The statement said the latest test follows a series of recent military developments, including earlier missile and weapons trials conducted by the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force aimed at strengthening defence capabilities.
