WASHINGTON: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with US President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday, where both leaders discussed a wide range of bilateral, regional, and global matters, according to Geo News.
The meeting, which lasted over an hour, was also attended by Field Marshal Asim Munir, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Vice President JD Vance.
Prior to the talks, President Trump praised PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal Munir as “great people,” highlighting the improving relations between Washington and Islamabad.
Images released by the White House showed President Trump in cordial discussions with PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal Munir.
Analysts note that US-Pakistan ties have witnessed a renewed warmth under Trump’s administration, after years of Washington leaning toward India as a counterbalance to China in Asia.
