ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar congratulated the people and government of Germany on the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, describing it as a historic moment that inspired hope, unity, and peace across the world.
Speaking at a commemorative event on Thursday, Tarar said, “On this important occasion, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people and government of Germany. On this day, Germany became one.”
He added that thirty-five years ago, the people of Germany sent the world a powerful message of peace, hope, and unwavering determination. “The fall of the Berlin Wall brought new hope to the German nation and marked the beginning of a new era of peace, development, and prosperity,” he said.
Tarar paid tribute to all those who played a role in Germany’s reunification, stating that the people and government of Pakistan share in the joy of this historic occasion.
Highlighting the strong bilateral relationship, the minister said that diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Germany were established in 1951, and since then, both countries have enjoyed close cooperation in areas such as trade, energy, vocational training, education, health, and environmental protection.
“Germany has been a trusted partner of Pakistan, and we are grateful for its support in our socio-economic development,” Tarar remarked. He added that projects completed with German cooperation are clear examples of the strong friendship between the two nations.
Tarar emphasized that Pakistan is committed to further strengthening its close cooperation with Germany, including enhancing people-to-people contacts. He expressed his best wishes for Germany’s continued progress and prosperity and for deeper Pakistan-Germany relations in the years ahead.
