Web Desk; UN Women Pakistan has appointed popular actor and youth icon Hania Aamir as its National Goodwill Ambassador, a move aimed at advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment across the country.
In her new role, Hania will use her widespread influence to raise awareness, inspire meaningful action, and amplify the voices of women and girls nationwide, the organisation announced through an Instagram post.
“Together, we will continue working toward a future where every woman and girl can realise her full potential — free from violence, discrimination, and inequality,” the post added.
Hania Aamir, one of Pakistan’s most recognisable celebrities, enjoys immense popularity among young audiences. Her growing fame has extended internationally, particularly after her appearance in Sardaar Ji 3, marking her debut in the Indian Punjabi film industry.
The film’s success strengthened her image as a cultural bridge between Pakistani and Indian communities around the world.
Recently, Hania received the “Global Star Award” at a ceremony held in Houston, celebrating her rising influence in both entertainment and advocacy.
Through this appointment, UN Women Pakistan seeks to further engage young audiences and expand its initiatives promoting gender equality, ending gender-based violence, and economically and socially empowering women.
With over 19 million Instagram followers, Hania is currently the most-followed celebrity in Pakistan. Her social media presence, photoshoots, and cross-border projects have made her a dynamic figure both on and off screen.
