Pakistan’s diplomatic standing has received a significant boost following the success of Bunyan-e-Marsoos, with geo-strategic deals and engagements leading to new defense agreements. A report describes that these deals, valued around $13 billion, and it could be a key economic driver for the country in upcoming years.
The agreements are expected to have a great impact on Pakistan’s economy, potentially leading to a jump in foreign exchange reserves and helping achieve the export target of $60 billion. Additionally, these deals may catalyze investments in supporting industries, creating employment opportunities and benefiting mostly in technology sector.
Pakistan’s defense exports encompass a range of military equipment, including fighter jets, tanks, drones, and naval systems. Institutions such as the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Pakistan Ordnance Factory, Heavy Industries Taxila, and Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works are likely working great for these exports.
A feather in the cap is the successful test of the Taimoor weapon system demonstrates Pakistan Air Force’s ongoing commitment to achieving operational readiness, technological advancement and national security goals. This achievement highlights the technical expertise, capabilities, and self-sufficiency of Pakistan’s defense industry. Senior officials from the Pakistan Armed Forces, along with esteemed scientists and engineers involved in the system’s development, witnessed the launch, which is no doubt an honor for every citizen of Pakistan.
The JF-17 Thunder fighter jet has garnered significant interest from several countries. Pakistan is in talks with Saudi Arabia to convert $2 billion of Saudi loans into a JF-17 deal and has held discussions with Bangladesh on potential procurement of JF-17 fighter jets. Pakistan has also secured a $4 billion weapons pact with the Libyan National Army and is engaging with Indonesia on strategic aviation cooperation.
The report suggests that Pakistan’s defense exports could benefit from a global increase in defense spending, with potential opportunities in Africa and other regions. So the prayers from the core of the heart of every Pakistani is “More Powers to you Pakistan!
