RAWALPINDI; British High Commissioner Jane Marriott held a meeting with Federal Minister for Defence Production Muhammad Raza Hayat Harraj in Rawalpindi on Sunday, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in defence and other priority areas.
During the meeting, Minister Harraj warmly welcomed the British envoy and noted that Pakistan values its longstanding partnership with the United Kingdom. He described the UK as a trusted friend and key development partner, emphasizing that sustained dialogue has been instrumental in fostering alignment on bilateral, regional, and global issues.
Both sides agreed on the need to further expand collaboration, especially in the field of defence production. Harraj expressed confidence that Pakistan-UK relations would continue to grow based on mutual respect, shared goals, and a strong understanding of each other’s perspectives.
High Commissioner Marriott, for her part, reiterated the UK’s continued support for Pakistan and reaffirmed her commitment to advancing joint priorities. She expressed the UK’s willingness to work closely with Pakistan on enhancing defence cooperation and expanding trade ties.
The meeting served as another step in reinforcing the strategic partnership between the two countries.
