ISLAMABAD: Sri Lanka High Commission in Islamabad participated at the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association (PFOWA) Annual Charity Bazaar- 2025 held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan on 23 November 2025.
A large number of Embassies / High Commissions actively took part at the PFOWA Bazar with over 30 local Pakistani Charitable organizations & local entrepreneurs in Islamabad.
The Charity Bazaar was inaugurated by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, together with the Foreign Secretary, Ambassador Amna Baloch, under the theme of “TOGETHER FOR A BETTER TOMORROW.”
The event aimed to raise funds for charitable activities benefiting underprivileged communities. It provided an opportunity for diplomats and their families to showcase their countries’ rich cultural heritage.
Prior to the inauguration of the session, a parade ceremony was conducted, featuring Sri Lankan children carrying Sri Lankan flags, together with children from other nationalities.High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Rear Admiral Fred Senevirathne, attended the opening ceremony.
The Sri Lankan stalls at the event highlighted the country’s tourism, cultural heritage, and a selection of renowned products, including Ceylon tea, a variety of biscuits from the Maliban and Munchee companies, spices, wellness items, handicrafts, and traditional Sri Lankan cuisine.
Visitors to the Sri Lankan stalls were treated to freshly brewed Ceylon tea.The High Commission brought a consignment of promotional biscuits and assortments on a complimentary basis from Maliban Biscuit Manufactories (Private) Limited and Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL), known as Munchee, with the support of Sri Lankan Airlines and in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In addition, the owner of ABHA Ceylon Exporters (Pvt) Ltd, Kapila Arachi attended the event and showcased his company’s products, including cinnamon and its co-products cinnamon leaf oil and bark oil as well as herbal drinks and spices.
This annual participation by the Sri Lanka High Commission in Islamabad reinforces the mission’s commitment to promoting Sri Lanka’s culture and products, while supporting charitable causes in Pakistan High Commission of Sri Lanka.
