ISLAMABAD; In a gesture aimed at reinforcing diplomatic goodwill and bilateral cooperation, Senator Dr. Shahzad Waseem hosted a reception at his residence in honour of the Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, His Excellency Akamatsu Schuichi.
The event was attended by parliamentarians, senior government officials, diplomats, and members of the business and academic communities.
Welcoming the Japanese envoy, Senator Waseem praised Ambassador Akamatsu’s dynamic role since assuming office—highlighting his active public outreach, promotion of infrastructure projects, and contributions to human resource development in Pakistan.
He particularly emphasized the importance of the recent Pakistan–Japan Human Resources Stakeholders Meeting, calling it a key step towards stronger workforce and talent collaboration between the two nations.
Ambassador Akamatsu thanked the Senator for the warm reception and reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to expanding bilateral ties. He reiterated Japan’s interest in deepening cooperation with Pakistan across multiple sectors, including economic development, education, technology, and cultural exchange.
The reception underscored the historic and forward-looking relationship between the two countries, rooted in mutual respect and shared democratic values.
