WASHINGTON (MNN); US President Donald Trump will hit Iran harder if Tehran refuses to acknowledge that it has been “defeated militarily,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Wednesday.
“President Trump does not bluff and he is prepared to unleash hell. Iran should not miscalculate again,” Leavitt told reporters, emphasizing that if Iran does not accept the current reality, the strikes will intensify beyond anything previously seen.
The US-Israel joint military operation in Iran has entered its fourth week. Countries including Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt are attempting to mediate. A senior Iranian official told Reuters that Tehran is still reviewing a US proposal to end the war, without outright rejecting it.
Leavitt confirmed that talks are ongoing and productive, though she clarified that some media reports about a 15-point US plan were not entirely accurate.
Global equity markets recovered slightly, and oil prices dropped on Wednesday as investors reacted to reports about potential peace efforts, hoping for an end to disruptions in global energy supplies and inflation pressures.
