ISLAMABAD (MNN); Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday underscored the importance of unity and harmony within the Muslim Ummah during a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
During what was described as a very warm and cordial call, the prime minister conveyed his best wishes to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, also known as MBS, as well as to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He thanked the crown prince for his warmth and affection towards Pakistan.
Both leaders reaffirmed their shared resolve to further strengthen the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, which, the statement said, have reached new heights in recent months. They also exchanged views on the regional situation and current developments, during which PM Shehbaz emphasised the need for unity and harmony among Muslim countries in the face of ongoing challenges.
Expressing Pakistan’s complete solidarity with the Kingdom, the prime minister stressed that regional peace and stability must be maintained through dialogue and diplomacy. The Saudi crown prince, in turn, thanked PM Shehbaz for the call and reiterated Saudi Arabia’s desire to expand cooperation with Pakistan in all areas of mutual interest. He also expressed his intention to undertake an official visit to Pakistan in the coming year.

In a separate meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held discussions on regional and global developments with Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy, the PMO said in another statement.
According to the PMO, the prime minister conveyed his warm greetings to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, expressing satisfaction over the strong state of bilateral relations between Islamabad and Riyadh. Ambassador Al-Malkiy reciprocated the greetings and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s desire to further enhance cooperation with Pakistan across all sectors.
The prime minister reiterated his firm commitment to deepening the long-standing fraternal relations between the two countries and thanked Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his continued patronage and support, which has brought Pakistan and Saudi Arabia closer than ever before.
PM Shehbaz also recalled his meetings with the Saudi crown prince over the past year, describing them as highly productive, and expressed deep appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s consistent support for Pakistan during challenging times. Recent regional and global developments were also reviewed during the meeting, with the prime minister again stressing the importance of maintaining peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy.
