ISLAMABAD: A senior delegation from a US-based financial technology firm met Chief of Defence Forces and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, underscoring rising international interest in Pakistan’s digital economy and investment landscape.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a delegation from World Liberty Financial called on Chief of Defence Forces and army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir in Rawalpindi. The visiting delegation was led by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Zachary Witkoff.
ISPR said the meeting centred on Pakistan’s changing economic landscape, with discussions covering international private investment and cross-border digital finance opportunities.
The engagement highlighted increasing global confidence in Pakistan’s fintech sector and the country’s potential to strengthen financial inclusion through modern digital financial systems.
During the meeting, Witkoff acknowledged Pakistan’s immense economic potential and praised the country’s leadership for embracing futuristic technologies. He said Pakistan is making serious efforts toward economic development aligned with future requirements, particularly in the fintech and digital finance domains.
Field Marshal Asim Munir welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to economic stability and strengthening investor confidence. He stressed that the country remains focused on creating an enabling environment for responsible private investment to support sustainable development and long-term economic growth.
