ABU DHABI (MNN); Another Pakistani national has died after being struck by falling debris from a missile interception in Abu Dhabi, authorities confirmed on Thursday.
According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the latest incident has raised the total number of Pakistani fatalities in the United Arab Emirates to four amid ongoing regional tensions linked to the US-Israel conflict with Iran.
In an earlier statement on X, officials reported that debris from the interception of a ballistic missile fell on Sweihan Street, resulting in the deaths of two unidentified individuals, injuries to three others, and damage to several vehicles.
A subsequent update confirmed that the deceased included individuals of Pakistani and Indian nationality. The injured were identified as citizens of the UAE, Jordan, and India, with conditions ranging from moderate to serious.
Authorities urged the public to rely only on official information and refrain from spreading unverified reports.
The Embassy of Pakistan in the UAE expressed deep sorrow over the death, extending condolences to the bereaved family. It stated that it is coordinating closely with local authorities to provide assistance and ensure the early repatriation of the deceased.
Earlier incidents include the death of a Pakistani national on March 17 due to similar debris, and another on March 8 when missile fragments struck a vehicle in Dubai’s Al Barsha area.
Another victim, identified as Mureed Zaman, was killed in Abu Dhabi on February 28, the day the conflict began following US and Israeli strikes on Iran.
In a separate incident, a fisherman from Gwadar was killed on March 8 after debris from an Israeli projectile intercepted by Iranian air defences hit his boat in Iranian waters.
