ISLAMABAD (MNN); Pakistan is set to host an important four-nation meeting to discuss the ongoing US-Israel war with Iran, as diplomatic efforts intensify to prevent further regional escalation.
According to Hakan Fidan, the Foreign Minister of Türkiye, he will visit Pakistan over the weekend to meet his counterparts from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan for consultations on the evolving situation.
Speaking to a Turkish news channel, Fidan described the current situation as “difficult and painful,” adding that ongoing diplomatic engagement aims to prevent rising mistrust between Iran and neighbouring countries following recent tensions.
He warned that a prolonged regional conflict could draw Muslim countries into a wider war, a scenario that would benefit Israel.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that Marco Rubio may also lead a three-member US delegation to participate in the discussions. The meeting is expected to help pave the way for potential dialogue between US and Iranian officials, with Pakistan playing a central hosting role.
