Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Washington, D.C. for a high-level visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and advancing regional cooperation. He was received at the airport by US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, who recently concluded an official trip to Kazakhstan.
During his visit on November 7, Tokayev will hold a meeting with US President Donald Trump and take part in the Central Asia–US summit, known as the C5+1 format. The Kazakh leader has expressed appreciation for the invitation to join the summit and voiced optimism that the engagements in Washington will help define strategic priorities to bolster long-term cooperation between the United States and Central Asia.
A key focus of the discussions will center on expanding trade, economic collaboration, and investment opportunities, reflecting Kazakhstan’s continued efforts to deepen its economic partnership with the United States.
Tokayev’s trip marks his second visit to the United States this year, following his participation in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in September, where he also held talks with President Trump.
