Pakistan and Indonesia reaffirmed their longstanding friendship and shared commitment to strengthening bilateral ties at a ceremony held in Islamabad to mark three major milestones: the 80th Independence Day of Indonesia, the 80th Anniversary of the Indonesian Armed Forces, and 75 years of Indonesia-Pakistan diplomatic relations.
Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry attended the event as the Chief Guest, alongside Barrister Aqeel Malik, senior officials, diplomats, and members of the Pakistani and Indonesian communities.
The ceremony featured a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony, led by Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Ambassador of Indonesia Chandra W. Sukotjo, and other distinguished guests, celebrating the enduring friendship between the two nations.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry extended heartfelt congratulations to the people and government of Indonesia, praising the country’s remarkable progress and its growing role in regional and global affairs. He highlighted the historic and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Indonesia, rooted in shared values, religion, and mutual respect.
Ambassador Chandra W. Sukotjo expressed gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for its continued friendship and cooperation, noting that Indonesia highly values its partnership with Pakistan across various sectors, including trade, defense, education, and cultural exchange.
The event concluded with a reaffirmation of both countries’ commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and working together for peace, prosperity, and regional development.
