BEIJING, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) — China has expressed firm opposition to what it described as the United States’ overstretching of the concept of national security and the use of discriminatory measures to unjustifiably suppress Chinese companies, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday.
Spokesperson Lin Jian made the remarks in response to reports that the U.S. Federal Communications Commission announced on Monday it would add Chinese drone maker DJI to a list of companies deemed to pose unacceptable risks to U.S. national security, a move that would block approvals for new drone models to be imported or sold in the United States.
Lin urged the United States to correct its wrongful practices and create a fair, just, and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese companies.
