ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, has extended warm greetings and best wishes to the Government and people of Pakistan on the joyous occasion of the New Year 2026, expressing hopes for health, prosperity, and success.
In his New Year message, the Iranian ambassador conveyed appreciation to Pakistan’s leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, members of the federal cabinet, as well as the Speaker and members of the National Assembly and Senate, for their strong political will and efforts to advance bilateral relations.
Ambassador Moghadam highlighted that sustained high-level exchanges and brotherly cooperation between the two countries have played a key role in deepening Iran–Pakistan ties. He also paid tribute to Pakistan’s Army and security forces for their vital role in enhancing cooperation, particularly in ensuring security and stability along the shared border and in the fight against terrorism.
Reflecting on bilateral relations, the ambassador described 2025 as a “highly successful and remarkable year” in the history of Iran–Pakistan relations. He noted that, driven by the firm determination of the leadership of both countries, tireless efforts of governmental institutions, and the steadfast support of the peoples of Iran and Pakistan, bilateral cooperation reached new and unprecedented heights.
During the year, he said, both countries extended mutual support across various arenas, including regional and international forums, further strengthening their strategic partnership.Looking ahead, Ambassador Moghadam expressed confidence that the coming year would open new avenues for cooperation and further consolidate enduring relations based on shared interests, common values, and mutual respect. He reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to working closely with Pakistan for the promotion of regional and international peace and stability.
The ambassador also recalled Pakistan’s “strong and principled support” during the twelve-day war, stating that the Islamic Republic of Iran and its people would never forget Pakistan’s solidarity. Concluding his message, Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam once again extended heartfelt New Year wishes and said:“Pakistan, shukriya, shukriya.”
