RAWALPINDI (MNN); An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crashed into a house in the Chaklala area of Rawalpindi early Tuesday morning, according to security sources.
No casualties were reported in the incident, though the house sustained partial damage.
The incident comes days after multiple rudimentary drones, reportedly launched by the Afghan Taliban, were intercepted in different cities across Pakistan, as confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
These developments are linked to Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, initiated on the night of February 26 in response to unprovoked cross-border firing.
According to ISPR, the drones were neutralized using both soft and hard kill techniques before reaching their targets. However, falling debris caused injuries to two children in Quetta and one civilian each in Kohat and Rawalpindi.
Earlier, military officials had also reported attempts by Afghan forces to target areas including Swabi and Abbottabad using basic drones, all of which were successfully intercepted by Pakistan’s anti-drone systems.
