Sports Desk (MNN); Pakistan shooter Muhammad Farrukh Nadeem captured gold in the Men’s Trap final at the ongoing Asian Shotgun Championship, setting two new records in the process.
Farrukh posted scores of 23, 25, 24, 24, and 23, establishing both a new finals world record and a new finals Asian record. Maxim Bedarev of Kazakhstan claimed silver, while Abdulrahman Alfaihan of Kuwait took bronze. Farrukh’s fellow Pakistani competitor, Zafarul Haq, finished in 28th place.
After the qualifying round, Farrukh was ranked seventh, making his gold medal victory even more remarkable. This remains Pakistan’s first and only medal in the championship so far.
Kazakhstan leads the overall medal tally with 14 medals, including five gold, four silver, and five bronze, followed by Qatar with three golds and four silvers.
