President Subianto arrived in Islamabad on Monday at the invitation of PM Shehbaz. In a post on X, the prime minister said he was honoured to host the Indonesian president and looked forward to “meaningful engagements” aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
During the visit, Pakistan and Indonesia are set to sign several memorandum of understanding across key areas including trade, investment, defence, health, information technology, climate action, education, and cultural cooperation. Discussions will also focus on enhancing collaboration at regional and global forums.
According to the Foreign Office, this marks President Subianto’s first visit to Pakistan, with the last presidential trip made by Joko Widodo in 2018.
