ISLAMABAD; Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, met Nepal’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Rita Dhital, at the CDA Headquarters on Tuesday.
The ambassador was warmly received by the CDA chairman. Member Administration CDA Talat Mahmood and other senior officers were also present during the meeting. Matters of mutual interest and ways to further strengthen bilateral relations were discussed.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with brotherly country Nepal and values mutual cooperation in different sectors.
Nepal’s Ambassador Rita Dhital praised the natural beauty and urban planning of Islamabad, stating that CDA has played a significant role in preserving the capital’s scenic environment and ensuring sustainable urban development. She said the presence of extensive green spaces and large parks has made Islamabad a peaceful and environmentally friendly city.
The CDA chairman said that strict implementation of the Islamabad Master Plan was ensuring the protection of the city’s green cover and balanced development.
The meeting also discussed the proposal to declare Islamabad and Kathmandu as sister cities. The Nepalese ambassador informed that work was underway on a draft agreement in this regard.
Chairman CDA also discussed matters related to the plot allocated for the Nepalese Embassy in the Diplomatic Enclave, assuring full cooperation from CDA for the early resolution of all related issues.
The ambassador was briefed on ongoing beautification and uplift initiatives in the Diplomatic Enclave. Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that enhancing the beauty and infrastructure of the Diplomatic Enclave remains a top priority of CDA.
He also extended a special invitation to the Nepalese ambassador to actively participate in the spring tree plantation campaign starting next month.
